Tonight’s MOUTN outreach class is cancelled due to an unavoidable conflict. We still plan to meet Thursdays, starting back up on March 12th.

MOUTN podcast episode 1 now online

ITEM: You can find the first full MOUTN podcast now online at the restore memphis website here. You can also find it via David Skorupa’s online page here.

In the podcast hosted by Ed Knight, you’ll find David Skorupa’s short examination of the story of the miracle Jesus performed at the wedding at Cana, as recounted in the Gospel of John, chapter 2. The podcast is being hosted through the generosity of the restorememphis.com website.

We’re trying some things with music and such, so bear with us as we improve.

For best results, we invite you to open your Bible to the passage in John 2, or if you are at a computer, visit a site like biblegateway.com where you can view the verses on your screen. Quick notes, first week of February

ITEM: PODCAST
Work on our first podcast was completed early this week! The podcast contains some announcements and highlights of our Thursday, Jan. 29 study in John’s Gospel, recounting Christ’s miracle of changing water into wine at the wedding feast in Cana. A test/intro file of the podcast is currently posted at iTunes, and we’ll find a way to give you more direct access to it and our regular podcasts in just a few days.

ITEM: PRINT
Flyers and posters with information about MOUTN are popping up in different places around town. If you’re interested in helping spread word by dropping flyers, let us know and we’ll get some to you.

ITEM: SCRIPTURE STUDY
Thursday, February 5th we’ll study Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus as seen in John chapter 3, among other things. Join us, 7:00 p.m. at White Station Baptist Church in East Memphis, TN. Again, visiting doesn’t obligate you to join the class or the church… we’d be very happy to have you with us!

ITEM: A color poster advertising the MOUTN group is now up in the Memphis Pizza Cafe location on Park Avenue. Our thanks to Memphis Pizza Cafe for allowing us to place a poster in their restaurant. If you are interested in helping us distribute and place posters in the Memphis area, please contact us.

ITEM: Work is underway on the MOUTN podcast. More information about this will be made available in February, 2009.

ITEM: You’ll be hearing more about the Great Spam Cookoff, MOUTN’s first “special event” outreach party. The cookoff will take place Saturday, May 9th at White Station Baptist Church in Memphis TN.
